FAQ: Answering All of Your Pet Care Questions

How often should my pet see the vet?

Most dogs and cats should visit at least once a year for a wellness exam. These regular checkups allow us to assess overall health, update vaccines, and spot potential issues early. Senior pets, or those with chronic conditions, or on long term medications benefit from exams every six months to stay comfortable and thriving.

When should I schedule a dental cleaning?

Good dental care keeps pets healthy from the inside out. We recommend a dental exam at least once a year during your pets annual exam, with professional cleanings as needed. Regular brushing, dental chews, and early checkups can help protect your pets teeth and slow down the progression of periodontal disease.

Do you treat exotic pets?

We do not treat exotic pets at Bayou Trails Animal Clinic. This is a service that Dr. Bouche’ would like to start offering in the future. At this time we are able to see dogs and cats. We will keep you posted as we expand our services to treat additional species.
